However, I do find it hypocritical to be offended at his treatment of blacks and gays (believe me, I found it offensive) and then make comments about the mentally disabled, such as, "I mean maybe we’re all retarded three-year-olds with Tourette’s, right? " Retarded is being misused in our society as an adjective for people who are foolish or inept. However, even the mentally retarded are capable of not saying dumb things or racist things or homophobic things. It is unfair and wrong to compare the retarded to a man who hasn't realized that being hateful and intolerant is wrong.
